about

* "a rare and blistering sun" is a lyric from one of my favorite songs called "Grace Cathedral Park" by the Red House Painters

lyrics

Talking to the late night as I'm out walking
Sculpting words from smoke into fog
Reminding myself if someone was listening
I'd sound crazier than I already am

Hearing the number five Fulton power lines buzzing
Ocean air salts raw wounds on the wires
Summoning morbid imagery of flies 'round a carcass
And long forgotten analog television static

Now I know that
It's just
a ride
And we're
all
one

We walked on earth
Climbed jagged walls of venerable petrified wood
To arrive
at the shore
Covered in dust and leaves adhered from perspiration
We dropped our bags
And disrobed
Took our breath and fell into our rapture

Singing to the morning as I'm out driving
forging harmonies to go along with the tape
a *"rare and blistering sun" shines down upon my face
I'm forever grateful of the warmth it provides

Now I know that
It's just
a ride
And we're
all
one
